Chandra Nandini Review

Chandra Nandini is an Indian Hindi language historical fictional drama television series. It is directed by Ranjan Kumar Singh, Mukesh Kumar Singh and Kadar Kazi. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor.

The makers did a great job with the promos of the show. It was full of mystery. It invited the viewers to find out for themselves as to what is going to happen next in the storyline.

All the characters are very well written. Chandra, Durdhara, Bindusar and Dharma are my favorite characters in the show. The set design, the costumes, jewelry and the makeup is apt for the time and era the show is based in.

The chemistry between Sidharth Nigam as Bindusar and Prerna Sharma was very good. I enjoyed both the cute fights and romantic scenes also.

Now let’s talk about my favorite performances from the show:

  • Vidya Sinha as Grand queen Sonarika of Magadh. She plays the role of loving Dadi to Chandra. This character brought a smile on my face each time she featured in a scene.
  • Rajat Tokas as King Chandragupta Maurya. Rajat is the most comfortable doing historical characters. It has become his genre where he tends to excel every time. Rajat has managed to portray the changes in his character after the leaps so effortlessly.
  • Tanu Khan as Queen Helena. Helena is selfish with slight negative shade in her character. Tanu has understood every nuance of her character and made the audience hate her onscreen.
  • Saanvi Talwar as Queen Durdhara. She is the most loving caring and supportive wife to Chandra. She gives a sense of relief to the viewers especially after intense scenes of Helena.
  • Chetan Hansraj as Parvatak Maleketu. He is the villain of the show. He plays every character so convincingly that it is sometimes really scary to watch him.
  • Sidharth Nigam as Bindusar. He portrays every emotion of the character so well. Anger, emotional trauma, the pain of losing his mother, regret and later love and concern for Dharma as his wife.
