Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon Review

Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon is a romantic comedy drama. It was directed by the team of Nassar Parvez, Maan Singh, Arshad Khan and Lalit Mohan. The popularity of the show was so much so that the makers had to launch a miniseries of 8 episodes on Hotstar called Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon ek Jashn.

The storyline works itself around the age old concept of opposites attract formula. The characters in the show is very well written. The casting process so aptly done that the actors fits to the mould of their characters so well.

The chemistry between the leading pair Arnav played by Barun Sobti and Khushi played by Sanaya Irani was magical. Both these actors have the power to keep the audience engaged each time they featured in the scene. The background score for the pair or the individual is very tempting and attractive.

Now let’s talk about the performances of the show I liked:

  • Barun Sobti in Arnav Singh Raizada’s character was almost on point with the swag, attitude and the dressing sense. He was able to perform the emotional scenes effortlessly. He could change his body language according to the narrative in no time.
  • Sanaya Irani as Khushi Kumari Gupta. Khushi is a happy go lucky girl. The acting skills of the leading lady of the show was put to test when Arnav Singh Raizada gets kidnapped in the show in order to adjust the shooting schedule of his debut movie.
  • Abhaas Mehta as Shyam Manohar Jha. He is the bad guy in the show. He appears to be a regular person living next door. The audience don’t get any hints that he is a villain in the initial episodes.  Abhaas got the opportunity to showcase his acting range as an actor in Arnav’s kidnapping and Anjali’s pregnancy track.
  • Utkarsha Naik as Manorma Singh Raizada. The character has an over a top behavior. She is the stress reliever of the show. The actress manages to hold the character’s vibe and enjoys everything she does while in the character so that viewers don’t find it hard to relate to Manorma.
